Spectrum Drilling Tools International manufactures the Pneumatic Power Slip (equivalent to Varco PS 16), which is a fully automatic, remote-controlled, air-operated slip. It is designed to handle tubulars ranging from 3.1/2” to 5.1/2” by simply changing the inserts.
The Pneumatic Power Slip PS 16 can be controlled either by a hand or foot-operated remote control valve. These power slips PS 16 are set using gravity and applied air pressure, and they are released by applying air pressure. This design eliminates the need for manual setting and lifting of slips.
The Pneumatic Power Slip PS 16 is designed to fit into 27.1/2″ and 37.1/2″ rotary tables equipped with API Pin Drive Master Bushing.
