A Safety Clamp is a mechanical device designed to be attached to tool strings or flush surface tubulars during their assembly or disassembly. Its primary purpose is to prevent accidental downhole dropping of the tool string in case the slips or elevators that secure the string lose their grip.
Spectrum Drilling Tools International manufactures the Multipurpose Safety Clamp, which is a safe and convenient piece of equipment for securely holding various types of tubulars during installation. It is constructed from high-grade alloy steel that undergoes hardening and tempering processes, providing increased strength and durability.
All safety clamps produced by Spectrum go through a series of rigorous testing procedures, including ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle testing, to ensure their quality and reliability.
This Multipurpose Safety Clamp has a versatile range of applications, including use during the installation of large-diameter surface casing, handling of drilling risers and casing heads during installation, and the lifting of pre-packed gravel liners. Its multi-link design distributes pressure uniformly around the pipe, minimizing the risk of pipe crushing or surface damage.
The available size range for the Multipurpose Safety Clamp spans from 2.⅞” to 36”, accommodating a variety of tubular sizes in drilling operations.
